The parish of Pico da Pedra is located in the interior of the north coast of São Miguel Island, 2 km from the sea. It is 8 km from Ponta Delgada (Rotunda de Belém) and 10 km from the county seat, the city of Ribeira Grande.

To the north and west it faces the parishes of Calhetas and Fenais da Luz; to the south, with Fajã de Cima, São Roque and Livramento; and to the east, with fishtail. In the area of the parish there are some elevations with the following altitudes: Pico do Gravel, 344 meters; Pico da Cruz, 366 meters (only the north slope is part of the parish area); Pico do Boi, 264 meters and Pico da Água, 282 meters.

To the south of the village is also the hill that gave rise to the name of the locality, Pico da Pedra, whose altitude is 234 meters. The lowest quota is located in Tronqueira, north of the village, with 40 meters.
