Santo Espírito is a Portuguese parish of the municipality of Vila do Porto, on the island of Santa Maria, azores. It has an area of 26.65 km and 588 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 22.1 inhabitants/km . It is located at a latitude 36.95 (36 57') North and at a longitude 25.05 (25 3') West, being at an altitude of 80 meters.
Located in the south-east of the island, its limits are the Atlantic Ocean and with the parishes of Santa Bárbara and Almagreira. It is integrated by the places of the Church Term, Malbusca, Calheta, Panasco, Glória, Cruz, Cardal, Boavista, Fonte do Jordão, Terras do Raposo, Lapa, Feteirinha, Almas, Santo António, Azenha, Loural and Maia.
It is the largest of the rural parishes of the municipality and presents a scattered settlement, which makes the landscape be punctuated by the houses painted white, with green "views", testimony of human integration in the surrounding environment.
