Sea and Serra Fajã de Cima is a Portuguese parish of the municipality of Ponta Delgada, with 11.89 km of area and 3 438 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 289.2 inhabitants/km .
Located in the interior of the island of S. Miguel, it is about 3 km from Ponta Delgada where the largest number of jobs is concentrated and, therefore, a complementary housing area of the county headquarters.
The main activity is agriculture.
The name of this locality, as mentioned by Frutuoso, derives from the fact that "it is based on ground, and from above, to distinguish it from another that is a little lower and is called Fajã de Baixo".
Because it is a parish of farmers, its inhabitants have great devotion to Santo Antão, protector of animals.
In this locality, the Pinhal da Paz deserves special reference, which, at the beginning of the 20th century, was just a rough, arid and semi-abandoned property. However, its owner proceeded to its use and valorization, transforming that arid area into a stunning noget, unique in the Azores, having been planted thousands of cryptomerias, pines and azaleas along a maze of streets and small flowery boulevards. Under Regional Decree No. 12/82/A, the Pinhal da Paz area was defined as "Reserva de Recreio".
