Methoni, 25 minutes by car, is a small, well-preserved traditional town, protected by the Greek Archaeological Service due to the imposing Venetian Castle, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunset and beneath which lie a beach and a sheltered harbour.

There is a beautiful square in the centre of the town and another one at the seaside, where you can find nice restaurants to enjoy fresh fish and other traditional Mediterranean dishes. Methoni also has supermarkets, a pharmacy, a dentist and a public infirmary. In Koroni, 30 minutes by car, you can find a wide variety of restaurants and bars which front the attractive harbour side overlooked by the ruins of the original Venetian castle.

There are two banks, a post office, a hairdresser, a dentist, doctors, and a wide range of shops for everyday needs. There is also a vegetable and bric-a-brac market on Sunday mornings.
